Sustainability
We want our clients to eat better for their health and the planet.
Based on our core values of being responsible and ethical, we have taken a decision to run a very sustainable business and our company has gone through a 1yr program with the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC). Through this program, we re-examined our operations end to end, and have made various changes to make our operations green.
For instance, our main source of power is Solar and we run on this 100%. Besides eliminating the use of electricity, installing solar power has enabled us to significantly reduce the use of LPG and charcoal, as it has become cheaper to use our electric equipment.
Malindis also uses Coconut Husk and Bamboo manufactured charcoal instead of charcoal manufactured from wood. This is all in a bid to protect the environment.
We are committed to keeping the environment safe.
To provide sustainable catering we generally employ the following practices;
Ethical Sourcing – We consider the impact the products we are purchasing have had on the people who created them or the environment in which they were created.
We are keen to ensure the products we purchase have been obtained through ethical, environmentally sustainable, and socially conscious ways.
Use Eco-Friendly tableware
Use Seasonal Ingredients –
Renewable Energy We currently operate off-grid (have completely eliminated the use of electricity)
Reduce food waste – we are determined to tackle Food Waste and as such ensure a great deal of planning to ensure efficiencies. We also rely heavily on data in tackling food waste.
